About Us

Founded in 2001, Kayak Coeur d’Alene was originally an outfitting company doing guided tours on Lake Coeur d’Alene. A retail store was later opened offering sales of kayaks and paddling equipment along with rentals and lessons.

In 2022 the Kayak CdA store was closed and the rental business was sold to new owners Paul and Stephanie Brown. They are Veterans of the US Air Force and longtime residents of the area. In 2025 their son Dakota took over daily operation of the business. He has spent countless hours on the lakes and rivers of North Idaho and is looking forward to helping people from around the world, as well as local guests enjoy the incredible recreation opportunity on the water of North Idaho. Dakota is happy to service your paddling equipment needs as well as provide knowledgable paddling advice and recommendations on the vast recreation opportunities in the area.
